you can do it using ado.net, it is as similar as we are doing connection with any database or database server.
You just need to use such Connection String

i have a report that shows Monthly attendace of employee..
Each day has 2 or more than two entries for a employee , 1 when he signin and the other when he leaves
i have to use Group by Days like this,

The Problem is the report is only showing 1 record in each group..

You should format your date column as dd.MM.yyyy or in any another format, in this format which you have now there is included too hours, seconds and miliseconds.

I am trying to call a css class through code behind.But its not working.I would like to know why it is not working.first i created a dd.css and put it inside the web.solution its worked perfectly.Next i created a class library and put code to call css and used that dll in the web solution.that is NOT working. i want to know why?

Right click resource file.In the Properties dialog box, locate the Build Action property. By default, this property is set to Content. Click the property and change the Build Action property to Embedded Resource.

Hi guys,
A customer just reproted a problem that's quite strange. They are using an ASP.NET application with a ReportViewer 9.0 control.
The report doesn't render at all (totally blank, although the toolbar is there) but if I export the result the PDF comes out perfectly. If I run it on my computer (and many others), it works fine.
The user is running WinXP with IE 8. [UPDATE: Specifically IE 8.0.6001.18702 update versión 0]
I googled it and found this[^] where several users report the same problem, but no solution is proposed.
Have any of you ran into this?

I am writing a custom control - Calendar textbox. In the code of the custom control i have added a attribute by the following code:

I have one js where i am calling this above property values as shown below:

Inside JS..I put the alert box to get the value of the property named

Value is not getting toggled from the JavaScript alert box.
Could you please tell me what the issue , why the value is not toggling?

Have you posted all the relevant code? I don't see any code that actually toggles your property.

Toggle i meant when i manually change the value ShowCalendar to True from False and vice versa

In the alert method you are trying to get the value of the attribute "_IsShowCalendar". Can you please let me know if you are adding the attribute anywhere else and if its default value is set to true?

hi,
I needs some clarification for webservice. The scenario is, i have to call a webservice interface. which is performed more than three minutes ( ftp file upload and download process done by that webservice). which is taking some times to complete.
So i used on the webservice proxy object property like
service.Timeout = 1000*60*5
its okay for webservice communication.but until that time we have to wait in our asp page. for that i created separate thread for webservice invoke.( thread is containing the class object is singleton). so when i used timer every time the class has the value or not . if there, i will shown to to the page.
For this way, i have achieve my scenario. but incase, the user can close the page after invoke, in that case data's maintain the entire application ( The data stored in hashtable object as key and value)
Have any option for achieve webservice performing long time?

Using a timer is not the best way.
Call the web service asynchronously.

but the thing is when I added web reference, coudn't get the method start with Begin(BeginHello). Its comes like HelloAsync.
didnt get this type of proxy method automatically

This is the call back method ok its comes after the webservice execution ,. but have to show that "completed web service" message to page. but in this case, its not reflected to page

I am trying to implement a calendar popup from a text box.
I used the following plug in ..

I have copy pasted the code in the "view source" button in the above link to my webpage.
I can see the textbox, but i cannot see the calender image on the side of text box which is click-able and a popup of calendar because there is no button to click.. why so?
Do i need to download css files ? and add it to my web solution?

In the options of the datepicker, you have something called as buttonImage. Are you having the respective image in the path, in your application?

That's ridiculous. It may be all gee whiz cool in their minds, but the deployment replace diddly, so their brilliant thought that it would prevent pointing to the wrong database wasn't quite so brilliant.
Well, I guess pointing to no database whatsoever is kinda sorta prventing the wrong one being used...

In my web application(ASP.NET 3.5),I want to remotely access the MS Exchange Server 2003 to read task,calender info.
I read EWS(Exchange Web Service) can use for this, But it can be works only for MS Exchange server 2007/2010.
How can remotely access Exchange Server 2003?
