I've posted an alternative to a tip, but can't find that alternative in the respective tab. Even it says that there are five alternatives, only four are listed...

I'm pretty sure that I clicked on the "Add your alternative tip" button on the original tip to write mine. Maybe I did something wrong...
Can anyone please have a look at this?

I just updated my article and after submission the source code download would not work. Clicking the link would display a blank page. I opened the submission wizard again and there were two copies of my zip file. I deleted them both and hand deleted the HTML relating to the link. I added the file back, uploaded the file, and added the file to my article. Now in preview mode clicking the link displays a page that says No download file was specified. Will it be there after submission?

I went back to the submission editor and refreshed the page. My changes to the article are lost and I'm back to two files, both from today. I'll try again after looking at the FAQ.

I removed both of the files, made my changes to the article, added the file back, clicked the insert link icon according to the FAQ and still when previewing I get "No download file was specified.". Here's the HTML of the link:

You may want to complain about me here[^]. And, as I said there, this was someone else's work - you stole their work and attempted to pass it off as your own. It's called copyright theft.

No, but I take that "Site protector" icon by my name very, very seriously, and I don't take kindly to anyone who could cause legal trouble for Code Project. I hate to say it bubba, but I don't think you're going to get much sympathy.

Ok, as long as you've learned the lesson, there's no hard feelings. Take the time to come up with your own articles - it's a whole lot more rewarding. You get a much better feeling when people praise you for your ideas than for someone else's.

This has come up a few times after I look at an Article and tell the OP it would be better as a Tip, and I don't know how to answer.
Is there an easy way to convert an Article to a Tip and vice versa before it is approved? Or do they have to copy and paste?

Authors should be able to it themselves by going to update their article and changing the Type from "Article" to "Tip". Please feel free to point them here:

When I upload it and the article is published (Bird, a New Optimal Language[^]), there are two file with the same name, and it writes that it has been replaced by another file, and can't download it. I tried to delete it, but doesn't worked. Is there a way to make it work? I used an external link for the last 3 previous versions.

I removed the link to the external file and clicked the "insert download links" button at the top of the downloads list in the editor and the link to your download was added nicely. I'll get Elina to see why the old copy of the download is still sitting there.
