I always carry my laptop around and I really need a full computer not some sort of device to see websites and play Angry Birds.
Until the beginning of this year I always had +2.5Kg transportables... cof cof... laptops. Wearing a suit it doesn't feel good to have a backpack so I have a hand case that after a 5 minute walk begins to be painful (don't forget about the charger brick, papers, ...).
So this year I bought a Toshiba Z830 and the game changed. This is the kind of device we can call a real portable, full sized and powerful machine. I can use it like my desktop, no limitations what soever... specially no trade-off between weight and power.
I'll never buy a tablet (even with keyboard) when I already have a big screen smart phone for the quick browsing and mail and a light and powerful computer I can take everywhere without any problem.

I'd like to get the x86 version, but I don't think I'm willing to wait until 2013 to get one... Might go for a Asus Transformer Book.

"Don't know" or "Haven't decided"
Until we know the price for sure, it's pointless to speculate. $599 or $999 is smack in the top end iPad territory, and with the usual conversion rate of $1 == £1 that makes for an expensive tablet over here. And until I see one, how will I know?

I agree with that!
That option was missing.

A laptop is cheaper and infinitely more capable.

I don't have any use for it.
