ya i am closing handle, if i not close the handle it unable open it its show the message that its has been in use ...
thats not the problem its getting deleted as i close the preview exe...

MFc application (vs2010).
Menu Items are not showing and sometimes overwriting the Text of MenuItem.
Any Ideas? Is related with WM_DISPLAYCHNAGE ?

Applicaion is SDI.
SomeTimes MenuItems are not coming,and sometimes with overwritten Text or garbage Values.
App was Already Created,Convert to 2010.

I try to catch a key press from a software usi RAW and Low Hook but i cannot have an result. I try to press alot of key but in my demo I can see and think?
I think that this has a function e.handle to handle key so we cannot capture anything?

Web spiders request documents and parse them. During parsing, all links from the document are stored to be processed later. If you want to find sub-urls, you must do something similar. But this will not find URLs that are not linked.
For some URLs without a file specification you may get a directory listing containing all files and sub-directories. But most servers will send you a default page (often index.html) when no file is specified or deny the request (listing of directories prohibited).
UPDATE:
You may use the GNU wget utility (also available for Windows) to perform such scanning. This command will download and parse all files and delete them afterwards while printing a line for each URL.

There is no standard directory listing method in the HTTP protocol. Directory listing is usually disabled (security hole) for most if not the whole site and even if its enabled you get back an index file if present (like with http://my.lotro.com/home[^]). Even if the get on the directory returns a directory listing its still a non-standard generated html page that you have to parse somehow. Its a waste of time trying to solve this problem because this can not be solved. Web spiders just follow links found on websites, they do not do directory listings.

Hi guys,
For our company I have written (meanwhile some 15 years ago!) a data mapping tool. This tool has evolved over the years and it is currently in C++, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. One of the products for this tool is a debugger that shows what is happening and shows the source code lines where action is performed. This part uses a CEdit control.
We have included stuff like breakpoint markers and all that.
Recently I have come to think that it might be handy to introduce syntax highlighting for the source codes. Would anyone have any samples of a CEdit that can do that sort of thing (like changing the color of words, showing them in bold or italics and stuff like that) Would save me a lot of re-inventing the wheel!

I think the best solution would be to replace the CEdit control by a CRichEditCtrl. It can do all the things you want.

I created an SDI application with FormView. I fixed the main window size to 600*350 and placed the control over the dialog accordingly and it worked fine.
But now I magnified the screen (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display) to 125% on my win7 machine. Now my application dialog is adjusted as per windows magnifier but main windows(mainframe) size remains small (600*350) and FromView inside the mainframe is not completely visible.
Please guide me to solve this issue.

It is a known issue. MS has developed a guide (TL;DR)[^] that is in their mind supposed to assist the developers.
In short, try first to adjust the manifest settings, as they suggest in the article and see if it works, otherwise, it is a notorious task of testing and adjusting, especially is you use custom fonts

I converted a Mfc project from VS2005 to VS2010.
Its compiled successfully.Now,the prob is that I am not able to launch application through release build output As It is opening through Debug Build output.
Any Ideas ?

Create the release version and launch it. Your question makes no sense, you have to choose the Release build as opposed to the Debug version.
One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

Perform a clean build on both release and debug. Then rebuild the solution in release and launch it. The clean operation already wiped out the debug binaries, so you will either get an error or the app will be launched in release mode.

Here is some code from the draw function in my custom control. I am using a vector to contain data concerning portions of the control.
This code works. You will surely agree with me, though, that using the iterator 'x' to identify vector members in called functions is probably a tad on the clunky side. I have had a go at sending pointers to vector members. I gave up with this. I think this might not be the right way to go either. What it is the correct, elegant way to do this?

What type is "X"? I assume it is an int (or long) since you add it to a CRect internal value.
In what way does it identify a vector element? it is not clear.

So you're accessing a vector with an index that comes from a variable of unknown type and origin. Not a lot of information to work with. Why do you think this is a problem? Is there a reason why you think x is not the appropriate index to use?
Until you explain what x is and where you got it from, it's hard for us to understand your problem - if there is one. Since the code works, the only suggestion I can make at this point is to rename x to something more ... self-explanatory, and add a few comments to explain what's going on (while you're still able to understand it). That may be helpful if you need to fix it in a year or two.
P.S.: There's one other suggestion I can think of: instead of passing x to those functions, pass a reference to the vector element. While technically that is the same as passing a vactor index, it removes the dependency between those functions and the entire vector.

I have spent some time trying to write code to send a reference to the vector element. I think I might have had trouble extracting this from the iterator. I must have somehow persuaded myself that there was some reason as to why passing a reference to a vector element from an iterator was a bad idea. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there is some sort of trap here - . I would probably be happier doing it this way if it is straightforward and safe. It seems more elegant. I don't really want to get bogged down in making the changes, though, if there is some inherent problem.
The functions in the iterator block use and possibly change the data in the vector element but don't call any further functions that use the vector element. There is only a single thread accessing the vector.

You didn't use an actual iterator anywhere in the code that you posted, so I don't see the problem. When a function argument is declared as a reference, you can just pass a vector element, such as sliderVector[id]. If you do have an iterator, then you can just dereference it to get the vector element and pass that instead. If you wish to pass a pointer instead, just use the 'address-of' operator:

The only possible trap I see is trying to pass an iterator directly when a pointer is expected. An iterator may behave like a pointer, but, while - depending on the implementation - it may actually auto-convert to a valid pointer (I know VS 2003 did that), you shouldn't rely on that. (e. g. VS2010 doesn't accept it)

I have thought some more about what I'm trying to achieve, though, and have come to the conclusion that since the vector array has class scope and that its members don't themselves know, or need to know, whether they are the current item in the 'for' block (where I've got the iterator) - the more elegant solution would, I guess, involve just sending an (integer) identifier for the required element.
Your help is very much appreciated. Your correspondence has helped my thought process a lot.
