has posted a plagiarized article from a well-known 3rd party as an answer to a question.
The only change in the copy/paste is the addition of the OP's name in place of the original author's, so he is clearly taking credit for someone else's work.

In this case, I think I'll just move all the answers into one. It looks like he was legitimately trying to provide information as it is the only instance of this occurrance. I will make a note of the user and we'll see what happens.

[Edit] The code sample he proudly displayed in Solution 5 (now part of Solution 2) is plagiarized from a different source. I have added the source link in my comment to the OP and the answer, but the OP has definitely got my attention now.

I agree that his votes seem a bit (ok, a lot) silly and I've reported him as well, but he has such a low reputation and a seems to rarely participate on the site, so I wouldn't worry about him too much. Cheers.

Nice catch.

They fixed a bug in the system about a month ago that could explain this. I have not seen any official post about this, so I don't know if that is the sort of thing they don't want to talk about.
For him to get that many points right around the time he signed up, he must have noticed the bug and exploited it.

My participation points are also inflated due to this - I don't remember by how much (maybe 600 points), but I figure they are going to correct it with one of their adjustments some day.
