I wrote a quick answer to this question: Regular Expression to accept English and German Alphabets and Space[^]
The original Preview before submitting looked fine, but after posting the page showed A-with-a-tilde, the-circle-with-four-legs etc., instead of the umlauted characters and so forth.
So I edit it, and try outside a code block - looks good so I post it back, and refresh the page. And both of them are correct!
It looks like the "initial submission" page is not using the same character set (or character translation) as the preview and QA page itself.
This message is manufactured from fully recyclable noughts and ones. To recycle this message, please separate into two tidy piles, and take them to your nearest local recycling centre.
Please note that in some areas noughts are always replaced with zeros by law, and many facilities cannot recycle zeroes - in this case, please bury them in your back garden and water frequently.

At present in a users profile you can set references to G+ and Twitter. Then these appear as follow links in the authors bio at the bottom of the articles.
Are you planning on integrating LinkedIn into the equation?

I see you have added the Linked-in Account login mechanism, but that wasn't what I meant in the original post.
What I was referring to was the 'Follow On' links at the bottom of the bio section on an authors article e.g. at the bootom of this A Coder Interview With Dave Auld[^] you can see the Follow on links to Twitter and G+, which is of course picked up from the 'My Settings | Professional Profile | Social Networks'
I think LinkedIn is a key professional connection point.

Question something says if Yes give reason, but you have to give a reason even if answering No.

Thank you for the topic history. I was sure that this had to of been brought up before.
I read the original argument against it (11 yrs ago) and can see where if the original poster has the power to move a thread that it could be abused.
I like the method you proposed in the third link.Quote: I still like the idea of a third option on the report flag. Wrong forum or something, select it, choose a better forum, 5 agree and off it goes.
However, I can see where mischievous members could abuse this system by bouncing a thread all over the place. Perhaps, these move requests could just be flagged for review by certain respected members to authorize?
I think that such a feature should also include a message sent to the OP about the move and include a review of the posting guidelines.

Not if the functionality was made available to members whose reputation level was >= n (some magic number). This method is already in use for several site features.

I may be wrong, but isn't the removal of a message by members whose reputation reputation level was >(some magic number) the reason for this discussion?
A system such as this needs some checks and balances. Does voting for a thread move that is later deemed inappropriate incur a penalty to those voting for said move? Say a loss of half their reputation points.

I wasn't advocating voting. I think that complicates the issue - a simple "Move Thread To Another Forum" link would suffice. This is how some other functionality (available to high-rep members) works.
The system would also need a "CantMovePost" bit in the database. If Chris think a thread was erroneously moved (with the best of intentions) to forum "X" instead of forum "Y", he could simply reposition it and mark the thread "no longer moveable".

We already have that feature. The trick is we just need to expose it to more members.
This touches on a deep but important thing I've been skirting around: allowing high rep members to edit / delete questions in the forums in exactly the same manner as in Quick Answers.
It will happen.
