Everyone over the age of 90 says the same kind of things, so you've got a 100% sample showing that the biggest killer is stress, which is easily avoided by choosing to be happy.
Like I say, you can be miserable and die young, or not.
If your boss is a bad-tempered PITA, just remember that he's doing less damage to you than he's doing to his life expectancy -- that should cheer you up.

An inspiration for us all. We have a dear friend who, along with his identical twin, were the only survivors of a family of 14 that went to Auschwitz. Both were experimented on by Mengele which left physical and mental scars, and yet they have remained positive throughout their lives.

Walking in downtown Denver last night, I noticed a traffic light that was built like the usual red-yellow-green type (in the U.S. at least, I won't to assume everyone uses them), except they were all white lights, the top being a horizontal bar, the middle was a triangle, and the bottom was a vertical bar (I may have reversed the top and bottom, but that makes more sense to me, the bars representing the direction of traffic flow).
Has anyone else seen these? Is it some kind of new traffic light for the color-blind? (It is worth noting, I only saw it at one intersection, and only one side of that intersection had this style of light.)
EDIT: Walked by there again tonight after the Rockies/Red Sox game, and noticed this sign[^], so anyone who guessed public transit was correct.

That shouldn't be necessary: lights are always Red on top, amber (if any) in the middle, and Green on the bottom. The colorblind use the position as their cue.
The description you have is a bit like railroad controls: 3 dots verticle for GO, 3 dots diagnal for SLOW, and 3 dots horizontal for STOP - no color differences . . . but I've heard they're moving that to the RAG version.
Easiest solution is to close your eyes and hit the gas.

But that isn't always true, I've driven through some areas of Texas where they put their lights horizontally instead of vertically. Obviously if you live in the area position helps, but if you're just passing through, it might not be immediately obvious.

Alas, I knew someone would bring up horizontal. That, too, is standardized, but I didn't know the standard.

Here (Montréal), I've seen a vertical white bar in conjunction with the other 3 colors.
It is used as a "Transit priority light" to let buses (and maybe taxi) pass the intersection in before all other traffic, just before the green light.
I'd rather be phishing!

Considering the location (near the exit of a major public transit hub) that seems pretty plausible, especially considering it only faced the side where the buses were generally coming from.

It's not a replacement for the standard red-amber-green light. It's a transit priority signal[^] that allows transit vehicles (e.g. trolleys) to proceed when standard vehicles have a red light.
