Unfortunately, this is the Code Project Lounge, not a career/coding/engineering help desk.
After the 500th "How do I (something that can be Googled in two seconds without imposing on anyone)" request, even the most willing gets sick of people signing up and immediately trying to pervert the Lounge into being their personal counselor.

I agree. We should only be posting CCC, movie quotes, pun threads, and other rubbish here. Asking for career advise here should be discouraged as much as possible.

There's the problem. We're not having many of those "most willing" ones here. The majority are going to post inanely stupid responses that are not even funny. And they don't do any other contribution here anyways. They just respond at every opportunity to mock or insult some poor bastard.
Mind you I did not help this dude myself because I felt that the answers are easily found with a search, and because he needs to ask more specific questions than "what's a business analyst", but I'm glad to see someone who is willing to offer some help.

I do hope that you're beginning to get the picture.
If someone wants to sign up to a message board and immediately treat it like a careers advice centre/CODZ PLEEZ repository, then the CP Lounge is the wrong message board.
There are perhaps umpty-eleven careers advice/CODZ PLEEZ message boards which are fit for that purpose, but, given most of the questions asked, Google is usually the best resource.
The response that you found so admirable to the OP's question itself contained a googled response from an existing member.
We are not here to Google for people. The Google web-site and a keyboard are available for that.

It's very difficult to be nice to the 500th person who decides that it's OK to treat you like a slave who is there to do his bidding, and mockery is far better than other appropriate responses.

I'm not asking you to be nice, and you should feel free to do whatever you think is appropriate.
But I'd rather ignore these people who don't do their homework, and they'll go away because they get no help here.
My point was (again) that there's a large number of people here who will do nothing but mock and insult newbies. I'm pretty sure that a portion of these 'expert regulars' are probably jobless and/or living in their mom's basement.
If there's a group of people who will treat this place like a dumpster by posting inane questions without doing any groundwork, there's another group of people who exist solely to respond to questions like this. Unfortunately, both these people are increasing in numbers.

I both empathise and sympathise with Michelle. Though *they* do a sterling job [allegedly], *they* scare the bejezus out of me and I wouldn't shed a tear if the whole bally lot of *them* where dumped in the ocean amid man-eating and above all hungry sharks.
