I've been to London this morning and I didn't spend too much. :tunelessWhistle:
I took my little car's mud-guard up to be repaired [insurance will pay most of it] and then I accidentally stopped at a hardware store on the way home to buy some new toys[^]. Cabinet making awaits, I will get the wood at the weekend and if I'm not busy start my first job Monday - a simple wardrobe for Mrs Wife to hang MORE clothes as we're now full.

No, I'll stick to pockets thank-you. As long as the boards are planed and true [which thy will be] all you need to do is drill and screw - even I can do it. What I really want is to replace the shyte wardrobe in our house in Balatonfured, this is just a practice run.

Suit yourself! 
One handy tip when building something that big: if the side and top pieces are the correct lengths (which is easy to check) you can verify squareness of the whole thing just by measuring the two diagonals. Any difference and it isn't quite right - a lot simpler than faffing with long set squares.

Just a curiosity, but when the side and top pieces are attached, particularly when the thickness of the boards is small compared to the size of the enclose rectangular solid, is their not a lot of play in the object?
Solutions would be to put in an intermediate shelf, stabilizing the awkwardly crooked cabinet, or as I prefer to solve it, build triangular cabinets - roomy, yet satisfyingly limiting.

Or triangular corner supports at the back, yes.
But it you built it off square it's a real PITA to square it up in situ.

We've had a house there fro some six or seven years and spend all August there. Swimming in the lake, 'tasting' the wine, eating well and generally living the good life. Oh, and doing all the endless jobs a house needs in a single 5-6 week window. We're going over late February and if the weather holds we might go down for a day a two. If it's really cold we'll go down anyway to go skating on the lake.

Fured is very nice and not suicide expensive. From the UK the only option is to fly into Budapest and drive or get the train, or, as we do, drive overland.
Every year we are seeing more and more Brits, oft with no connection to the country. There are also a lot of Dutch, German and Italians. It is a nice town and a beautiful area. I'm biased but I love it.

You don't think of it that way. You are thinking "shiny shiny" instead of "tool".
You amortise the cost over the lifetime of the tool, and divide the cost by the number of units it will build.
So in your case, thats £570 (inc VAT) divided by the number of wardrobes you will probably make, so that's what? 570/1 == £570.

We need one large frame in our bedroom and I'm going to make one for the girls room as well. Then in Fured we have four bedrooms with four wardrobes that are falling apart. Add to that the need for some decent storage in the larder as well as some more storage in our Budapest flat and I have another ten or so cabinets to build.

I'll spend more on screws then I did for the jig, so it's good value and only three quid a cabinet.

Remember the Law of Power Tools: buying cheap, costs twice. The first to realise that the bargain you thought you were getting isn't up to the job and the second outlay is buying the better tool you should have bought the first time.

Even assuming you don't use csk screws (which split the wood) its a weak joint. Might work for a picture frame but I would do joinery with it. You would be better off with doweled and glued joints.

Back when I was doing a lot of woodworking one of these would have been the real deal.

Imagine if there was a plugin for web browsers that would kick in when you visit pages of Wikipedia. It would add download links at the bottom when ever there is downloadable content available through Bittorrent, Usenet, or any other source. These links would blend in to look like part of the page. Clicking such a link would start a download to your local computer through a built-in download manager. For example you go to the Wikipedia page of the movie Terminator 2, and it has links to download that movie.
Piracy of content is pretty common already, but this would take it to the next level so that grandma will start doing it too. No more complicated software to install, no shady web sites to visit for finding the content, no difficulty in finding specific content.
The plugin queries a shared database, so there is no central place to shut down the system.
Of course a huge challenge is to index up all the content, but perhaps the bulk can be done through automation, and the rest through volunteers. The same could be done to assess the quality of the content. Over time all media content that is relevant in the world would be indexed and available to any person in the world for free.
Surely this is illegal, so Im not advocating that anyone should create such a plugin. But just imagine if someone did. That would be the end of copyright.

Just have it query Tribler. That's almost the decentralized database you're looking for (well, no usenet), and it already exists.
Small problem: you'd have to get your grandma to install this plugin.
Then again, grandma installs all the plugins. And toolbars. And anything else that can be installed.
