My wife is constantly nagging me about the fact that I have absolutely no clue (nor interest) in what happens in the society around me.

I know for a fact how ill informed news etc are. My uncle is a mechanic/engineer very high up in his department/field for a famous car company. One day he was at a release in a small town for one of the opposition's vehicles. In this commotion one of the reporters asked him if they can take a picture of him and his wife at the vehicle, reluctantly he agreed and then the person asked his name.
Next morning my uncle awakes to his boss' call asking him about the insanity that begotten him (comically luckily). So to his great surprise my uncle saw his name next to a photo in the newspaper with this written underneath it: "Mr and Mrs _ can be seen here at the release of the new (car). Mr _ confirmed he was really looking forward to test driving the car and says he liked the new sleek design"
