I have an iMac next to me intended to be used for a port. I use it periodically to test code snippets and keep it up to date. I hate it. A few months ago, it told me to reboot to finish an update, but wouldn't let me reboot because an app was running. As far as I could tell, no app was running, so I pulled the plug. That worked. Did I say I hate my mac? (It's like someone put lipstick on a pig--parts of the UI are shiny, other parts are so incredibly clunky it's just plain weird. Then there's the horror of Finder. Amd what is it with that mammoth task bar? Who thought that was a good idea. Then there's XCode. Bottom line for me is that Apple designs gorgeous hardware and crappy software.)

In the news today it revealed that the most common password is now 123456. I am going to have to disagree. You see, in order to activate my Adobe license, I had to create an Adobe account. I don't use my Adobe account for anything; nor do I care about it in anyway; so yes, I chose 123456 merely so I could use the stupid software I bought.
After thinking about it, the breach probably isn't as bad as it seems since everyone else used 123456 too; indicating that they didn't want an Adobe Account either but were merely being forced to create one to Activate.

So since 123456 is a dummy password for a dummy account, it's a garbage-in, garbage-out data breach.
Poor hackers. That would burn.

I wondered why I got that email also since I never use the Adobe account I apparently signed up for and didn't even remember why I signed up for one.
I also used some silly password on the list of top ten worst passwords like "letmein" or some such nonsense just to get through the activation process, but I don't remember which.

I do, however, disagree that the conversation would be best discussed in the soapbox. I wasn't looking for a conversation, just expressing a personal view.
