Well, now that you mention it, I visited the western US power administration operations center last week to see what they're using in the dispatch room. The entire grid is lit up on edge to edge Mitsubishi display units - LED, I assume - and updated in real time to show the status of every wire and switch and transformer and breaker in 9 states. The display is made up of edgeless plates, covering a wall 10' high and 60'+ wide. The operators have similar units mounted on hydraulic controls to move them up, down, forward and backward relative to the desk surface, which itself is hydraulically adjusted to be comfortable from a sitting or standing position. These individual desk displays are only 5' tall and about 8' wide, but the color and resolution is excellent. I'm just a tiny bit jealous... Poke tongue | ;-P
