There is that risk.
Fortunately we live on a planet that has never been hit by a bolide or subjected to massive doses of radiation.
(Well, except for all the bolides that have hit us and the GRB that hit us in the 8th Century).
Sod the risks, we would be in a far better position to see the great stuff out there, and in a more densely populated region we could have neighbours!

Not to rain on your parade, but I disagree. We would be sacrificing a wealth of detail about numerous faint objects for the sake of a local phenomenon. Those objects would no longer be visible due to interference from the local dust.

Take half a dozen cardamom pods and drop them in your mortar. Use the pestle to split them open and then remove the shells.
Now use the pestle to grind up the seeds nice and small, and mix it with you coffee grind. You'll find you've got a great little brew there...

The normal brew for the Missus's lot. Add sugar before heating if required (most people take it sweet), to preserve the foamy head.

18 yo daughter - quite mature, safe driver, but typical 18 yo - completely full of themselves. They have it ALL under control....
So, I'm working in the garage with my eldest son, replacing a hub assembly on his truck... I hear our minivan pull into the driveway... Hmmm, I think, must by 18yo on break from work... 5 seconds later I hear CRUNCH! Yes, she has tagged the left rear bumper of my wife's new Sequoia.
Thankfully, no damage to the bumper, but the minivan needs a new headlight assembly.
