On my MSDN subscription I got plenty of edition of SqlServer 2014.
Including the little know developer edition.
Basically I would like the minimal edition with SqlServer Management inside! Would the "Developer" edition do?

Developer edition is single-user edition but with all the features you can get - so you can develop with it any application but can not use it in real-life environment...
