I've hated them for over twenty years, but that wasn't to be cool, that was because a lad at school thought they were the greatest thing ever and it really annoyed him to hate them.
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

Likewise, some kids at school started a band and all they sang were U2 pieces of crap which was more than enough to make me a life long member of the shun the pretentious vanilla music band.

I bought their Josha Tree album for $1.00 US at a place called BuyBacks.
Brand new for $1.00 US. Well, it's obvious they are disliked. I mean, $1.00?
Well, I listened to it and it is quite poetic and some decent music and I listened to it quite a few times.
I'm just so all confused about "with or without you..."
I don't know. But it is a decent album. That one guy, maybe thte guitar player...he doesn't have a name? they just call him The Edge?
Edge of what? Must be the pretentiousness.

I've hated them since they first existed, simply because Edge can't play the guitar and Bono... well, you just can't fix something like that.

It became cool when Bono became pretentious.

Same thing with actors. Often times when you see how they are off camera it can be hard to like their movies anymore.

Co-worker: Who are you listening to now?
You: I don't know. I just grabbed a handful of CDs out of the bargain bin. I refuse to get to know their names.

He's not pretentious... He's just tired of being Number Two[^]
(Though honestly, I don't think I can name a single U2 song... They're musicians, right?)

I felt the same way, but I jumped on the bandwagon and now I feel like someone out there likes me, since I'm in with the crowd.

I just checked and it is all still in the cloud. As far as I am concerned it can stay there. Didn't ask for it. Don't want it. Hmph!

Good question. I like U2. But then, I also happen to like Windows8, so maybe it is because of me.

Why ? Lotus Notes is working nicely on it, and the bitching about security is nonsense, since I have installed Norton Antivirus.

I don't use the Ask toolbar anymore: It got once hidden behind my Google, Yahoo and AOL toolbar, and since then I cannot reach it, not matter how hard I click. I suppose this is some hidden feature in IE6.
