Can be quite funny and does get some amusing images on his Facebook page that might make you chuckle. Worth a look every now and again.

No, he is not funny.
No, he doesn't have amusing images on his FB page.
As such, neither he nor they not worth my time to look every now and then.

Absolutely. There was some rumor a few years ago about him being a Captain on a new Star Trek movie. Would have loved to see that, but it doesn't seem to have ever been made?

True, but I had heard (from his facebook page actually) of a movie where it was all about the adventures of Cpt. Sulu, but a quick google turned up nothing.

IIRC, that movie was under consideration after Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country was made. The decision was made to switch to the Next Generation cast at that point.
I would have enjoyed seeing a 'Captain Sulu' movie. George's role, brief as it was, in The Undiscovered Country was fun.

Yeah, I know what geek hasn't thought about something like that waiting for dinner to cook. However if it shaves time off of every time I cook dinner, that does make a difference for me.

oh i think it's a terrific idea! but it's so simple and obvious (once you see it) that it makes me roll my eyes that nobody had thought of it before.

My grandma had one looking like that, for using on the wood fired stove. She never used it, she hated cleaning it.
Personally I'm wondering why pots for electric stoves aren't insulated.

There's a perfectly good reason why pans don't have heat sinks.
There's also a perfectly good reason why some people should never try to "innovate" outside of their own field.
I imagine that any chef, or even any person who does a lot of cooking, would be able to explain it -- and I'm pretty damned sure that they would never use that pan.
