I was going to claim that this article was totally content free clickbait with no redeeming merit what so ever; but then I finished scrolling down and saw a link to something about who puts more pepperoni on its pizza; so instead I'll just accuse it of having zero content relevant to being a software engineer.

I have no difficulty finding unmaintainable code, and certainly without any weird set of rules to follow.
Just pick just about any repo on GitHub.

I have to maintain a ColdFusion site that was originally written by a noob, which was then handed off to a second noob, which was in turn handed off to a third noob.
Now, I understand that we were all noobs at one point, but it would seem that noob #1 wasn't mentored or monitored at all, nor was he made to correct any of his glaring mistakes, including the multiple hard coded drop downs of states, etc. And I have serious doubts as to whether the other two noobs were mentored either.
But, there is, buried deep in the guts of the site, a template named HandleEverything, I kid you not.
Comments from work:- "Why can't you just do it like everybody else?"
- "Well, we haven't had any complaints yet."
- "I just want to get it into production."
- "It only matters if it’s important to someone who matters."

OK, there's not need for the search button as there is already the search option in the Start menu, but taskview?
