To be fair, those congressional hearings are usually called when people use the occasion of a family event (such as the Super Bowl) to showcase their sub-par moral standards.
I've not seen Congressional hearings over a porno DVD showing nudity.
The outrage people feel during an obviously planned wardrobe malfunction is of the sort that some of these celebrities would express if they were to attend a Lady Gaga concert only to get a pudgy, middle aged preacher talking about Hell.

I almost reached a reasonable stage for a WPF control I am working on...
(very intermittently though  it has been 4 months and only 16 commit... chronic health issue is under control it seems, so should be finished soon!  )
For the record it is a .. MenuRibbon (something that can act as both an horizontal menu and a ribbon at the same time, just missing keyboard handling now, before release v... 0.8?...)
It has a MahApp[^] look, works well with it!
I am planning to make it open source!
I was thinking to host it on CodePlex. Someone mentioned github to me today quite matter of factly....
I suspect it is because I am currently working in a Web development company, but CodePlex would be a better choice for WPF project I think...
Any thoughts / suggestion?
(on a side note I already have a CodePlex account, but I don't have a github one)
And no, not on CodeProject, can't be bothered to make a nice article!

Well said that like that it doesn't seems very convincing does it?!
But from home usage I really prefer Word 2013 to earlier version, ribbon, menu, window border, all fade in the background and leave their place the main content... Really like it.
My home app will have the same look!

MM... one should pay attention to March Clifton's programming advice!  So I will give it a closer look!

I host all my code on Github. I find it very easy to use. It was one of the first to implement DVCS (Distributed Version control), way ahead of the likes of CodePlex and SourceForge. It also has really useful features such as forking and submitting pull requests.

I use github for my personal open source code and git for all my personal and professional source control.
I would suggest getting something like git extensions to help manage your local repository.

It depends alot on whether you are a MS-only developer: Nobody outside MS circle know or heard about Codeplex. Having a Github project looks good on your resume especially when you apply for that non MS-tech related job.

I am happy enough sticking with .NET!
And while I (sadly) do Web dev at the moment!
I long for the day where I'll be back doing WPF / WinRT / MonoForms!

Go with GitHub. It is definitely where the momentum is and even Microsoft is moving everything over to GitHub. I wouldn't say Codeplex is dead, but the momentum is definitely on GitHub.

Github is more popular, but CodePlex is more intuitive. When code is Linux/variant C-ish based, Github is good. For .Net C#, VB, etc., CodePlex.
To be honest, it doesn't really matter unless you are open sourcing something amazing. If it is just a utility, a niche site, etc...doesn't matter if you use a public repository.
For me, I only Github or Codeplex to show code examples for potential employers or customers.

But I heard there is way to do external submission on GitHub, which is cool, gonna investigate that!

Just been convinced to study GitHub more closely, so I will! We shall see!

I use both for different purposes.
GitHub is for close source, personal and commercial repository.
Codeplex is for public releases, freeware releases.
GitHub is more technical user friendly.
Codeplex is more end-user (non-technical person) friendly.
End-user (non-technical person) will prefer download software at codeplex than at GitHub.
Codeplex is more direct and cleaner for end-user.
I used to use Codeplex as main official site for open source freeware (currently).
