I played Path of Exile when it was released.
Apart from the huge massive skill tree; it was a arduous game to play (IMO)

How far back did you try it: closed beta, open beta, or nominal release?
Things're a lot more polished now than in CB or even early in OB; but since I'm not sure what you mean by arduous I can't say if the updates since then have done anything about what you didn't like.

I have to load it up again; I'm not certain it is still installed. (will check at home tonight)
If I remember correctly, using gems was weird; combat worked OK; the interaction in the towns was not well done; graphics were not that good.
As I said, I need to revisit this.

I need to run a process on my work laptop overnight, so setup TV earlier so I could keep an eye over it from home over a beer but now I can't access it. I didn't bother to set a password, I just used the default code they provide.
Does anybody know if that expires/changes after a few hours? Can't figure out if the code has expired or my laptop has restarted because of updates or something.
Really can't be assed going back to work to restart the process (cycling, in teh rain, after a few beers, boo!), but if the code doesn't expire I will have to.

Normally doesn't change until TeamViewer is restarted. Your laptop may have gone to sleep.

I am really begin to question my powers of observation. I just noticed that Dilbert (By Scott Adams) has no mouth. Is there anyone who follows Dilbert and had noticed this? It took me 6 month to notice.

My niece started to learn CS some 6 weeks ago. I just realized that nothing changed since I left...They still pump an enormous amount of mathematics into students.
I'm aware that, good logical thought is a must-have for CS, and that good mathematics means the same, but even so!
Did you learned that much mathematics as part of your studies? Was it really helpful?

I went off to Uni (many moons ago) to study a BTech in Maths and Computer Science.
At the end of my first year I failed every maths subject (getting zero in one exam, I suspect I didn't even get my own name right) and transferred to a "pure" CS after I re-did the maths exams (at home, no time pressure, all my books and notes. And friends who had passed them handy).
I can say that with the exception of basic geometry the only thing I have needed any significant maths for since is low level graphics drivers (you need trig for arcs, curves, and circles).
So no. It wasn't really handy.
I think it's a hangover to the old, old days: when maths (and Latin) was at the root of all science and scientific thinking. You need some, yes - but nothing too advanced any more. (You need a damn sight more math for physics than for computing these days)

Agree about the physics!
Many, many moons ago when I started Uni I was aiming for a degree in Physics. That lasted until second year.
The day my lecturer put a double integral sign up on the blackboard (I said it was long ago) was the day I knew I would have to find something else... so computing science it was!
