Anyone watched terrible movies? I skipped all comedies, horrors & bad sequels. And big no to Nicolas cage movies.
I watched one bad movie. Transcendence Concept was good but movie .... meh
This time didn't have much chance for movie but watched some nice movies.
The Lego Movie
X-Men: Days of Future Past
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Guardians of the Galaxy
Captain America: The Winter Soldier

"The Interview"
If NK had tried to squash it on quality grounds, I'd have had to applaud... Trite, predictable drivel with characters you want to throttle - if it hadn't been attacked it would have sunk (and stunk) without trace.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

thatraja wrote: Guardians of the Galaxy I saw it last week, at the end of 2014, and I agree it's a fun movie. Action, fun, some pretty funny jokes, all-in-all very entertaining!
And of course The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies!
*Looking up which movies came out in 2014*
Oh yes, I also liked The Monuments Men, Noah and Fury.
Interstellar was quite nice too, but the end was a bit... Weird.
And I've seen two movies in theaters that I didn't like all that much: Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Lucy. I wouldn't recommend them.
And then there's a lot that I wanted to see, but didn't.

Agreed about Guardians of the Galaxy. I haven't seen "The Hobbit: Battle..." yet. I'd heard it wasn't so great. What makes you recommend it?

Well, if you've seen part 1 and 2 you can't just not see part 3, which was reason enough for me to see it.
Second, it's just another Hobbit film. Over the top action, drama and fun.
If that didn't convince you yet the soundtrack by Howard Shore is amazing.
And if even that didn't convince you yet I give you one last reason: this steaming hot beauty[^]
See, I told you it would be good

As critics mentioned also I liked the soundtrack in GOTG.

Guardians was fun, nothing more, but certainly nothing less. Big dissapointment this year: The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies. 300, Pompeii , Fury and The Expendables 3 weren´t living up to my expecations either, but edge of tomorrow was surprisingly pretty good. Sin City was pretty OK and Captain America (winter Soldier) so, so.

I like mindless entertainment and the expendables is just that. Besides, The second one contains Chuck Norris...
Sin City 2 was not as good as the first one, but not too bad either.

I thought that Nightcrawlers was a great movie.

Watched both Bride of the monster & Planet 9 in youtube recently. Seriously those're not worst. I have seen so many worst movies on recent years.

I am not big on watching movies but I did saw Mary Kom[^] and was a bit disappointed. Also saw The Lunchbox[^] past year and I liked it very much.
As far as English or foreign language movies go, I can't think of any that I had seen which was released in 2014.

I also liked Guardians of The Galaxy and The Grand Budapest Hotel. The latter I think was the best comedy film of the year. Guardians was fun too though.
For New Years my girlfriend and I went to her sister's and since she has a child that is eight years old, we watched all four Ice Ages in a day. I liked the first one - wasn't synchronised, all the others were and all the puns of the English language got lost in translation and replaced badly. It was fun for the kid though, so I was re-reading The Hobbit while "watching" Ice Age
So when I finished reading The Hobbit and remembered how it went I was very disappointed in how The Battle Of Five Armies went. Don't get me wrong, the costumes, the shots and the music were great. The acting wasn't flawed either but the script was just awful. It was a movie to see once, probably not going to see it again. The 3D was nice though.

Yes I agree about Wes Anderson. But also the acting and the casting was brilliant.
Well having to watch all four Ice Ages in one day, I lost interest in the middle of the second one. Maybe because I knew there were still 2 more to come. I just didn't like it.
Well to be honest, I don't think I liked any of the Hobbit movies, script-wise. The shots, the costumes and music were very good. Actors also did a good job with what they were given. And being a bit departed from the source material is ok. But going into a completely different direction wasn't to my liking. Amd pretty much the same thing happened to LOTR. I'm not saying they should follow the book to the letter, but they used those cheap Hollywood tricks to make the movie seem more interesting. For example in LOTR: When Elrond brings Anduril to Aragorn at the last moment, where in the books he had the sword all along. They even forge it before they leave Rivendell with the Fellowship and Aragorn wants to reclaim Gondor. He seems reluctant in the movies. Why change that ?

Didn't watch any bad movies (as I normally turn them off if they are bad).
Recently watched - Gone Girl[^] which was very good although slow to start.
