Is the object-oriented way to become wealthy inheritance?

Only if the parent is in the upper class.

IMHO, you gave the best answer to this question. +24 for you.

That's only the beginning...
1) Inheritance - How you get your money
2) Encapsulation - Keep the wealth in your own class
3) Polymorphism - If anyone tries to enter your class, change the result so they end up in a lower one.
(Ok, #3 is a total stretch, but it's the best I can do on a Monday)

And the functional way would be getting rich by getting rich by getting rich by getting rich by...?

public class SanderRossel : Lazy<Person>
{
public void DoWork()
{
throw new NotSupportedException();
}
}

That will finish all your resources in no time...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Don't worry, it's all tail calls and lazy evaluation
My blog[ ^]
public class SanderRossel : Lazy<Person>
{
public void DoWork()
{
throw new NotSupportedException();
}
}

A recursive function then

Indeed

Where is DD, anyway?

Still in hiding until after the council elections in May.
Apparently, they are scared that if the people that will vote for him can read his opinions, they would vote for anyone else...

You should have corrected the typo, rather than just crossing it out.
(And remember that there are two Ls in "bollocks"; you don't want to typo the same word twice.)

That would have made a reasonable crossword clue "the OOP way to obtain wealth" ?

We've blown it now but there are a lot of easy OOP ones - many forms ?, the class of a loner ?, you dont move in this class ?

Poor inheritance is objectionable, but I don't know about the reverse.
«I'm asked why doesn't C# implement feature X all the time. The answer's always the same: because no one ever designed, specified, implemented, tested, documented, shipped that feature. All six of those things are necessary to make a feature happen. They all cost huge amounts of time, effort and money.» Eric Lippert, Microsoft, 2009
