Aha, that is black ice the sends you sliding sideways when rounding a bend.

Holy crap at Rwanda... 42 at the top, the #2 at that time, Sierra Leone, is only at 25 and the second highest total (Rwanda being the highest) seems to be Niger at 26. Rwanda just skyrockets and then comes back.
They made a good movie about it too, Hotel Rwanda[^] with Don Cheadle.

Yes, but I think the figures cannot be directly compared. Suppose you have a country with a large proportion of old people: The life expectancy may be high but the death rate will also be high. Then there is also the issue of death by violence. How do you account for that in life expectancy? This is a significant factor in some countries in Africa and elsewhere.
