Just got a new Samsung Galaxy S5 for me and the Missus.
Want to move all my sh*t across right now. Cause I'm impatient for the new S5 and the kids want our S4's as a replacement for their S2's.
Apps are an easy install from the App Store. SMS Backup& Restore takes care of the historical SMS's.
That leaves the Contacts. My service provider mentioned using Google SomethingIWasn'tReallyListeningToo to get these across.
Anyone know what it is I should be using? Anything else I haven't considered for the move?
Don't bother mentioning any iSunshine sh*t to use. Also don't mention I should have waited for S6.
No release date known, I got the S5 thrown in for free (S4 was $9.95 per phone per month). And new contract same $60.00 each per month with unlimited calls (600 minutes previously), unlimited MMS and unlimited SMS (same previously) and data up from 1.5GB to 2.5GB.

Maybe it deserves a second look, but Samsung Kies on my PC, and the off the shelf Samsung apps on my phone left and foul taste in my mouth and me ignoring anything Samsung but the phone itself, which is decent enough. Actually, that elephanting Kies is enough embarrassment to them on its own.

Yah I've tried 3 version of that POS, it is even worse than iTunes, or maybe better, it does not work where as iTunes cripples you computer. I like the Note 4, and their pad, nice hardware but really garbage software.

Samsung SmartSwitch, I believe. Took like 5 mins to move everything over to me new phone.

All my previous Android phones have just "worked" and transferred their own contacts on first use. Is Samsung different?
Granted I have all of them tied to my Google account, so when I start up the new phone, it asks for my account info, then proceeds to download all my apps and contacts. I've gone from a HTC Hero to a HTC Evo then a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and currently a LG Nexus 5. My wife has done the same except to a Motorola RAZR instead of the Galaxy Nexus.
The only problem I ever had was on the HTC UI had a modified contact list that had extra fields for things like Facebook profile link. That caused some strange data to be linked when we migrated to the Galaxy and RAZR.
If I have to use some silly tool to move something as simple as contacts, count me out.
