That was the first "technical" question I was asked, a few years back.
My immediate response was "Oh, so you make software for analysing clock displays, too? I thought you specialised in [product type]", and waited for a response before even trying to work out the answer.
Two questions (and two smart-@rse replies shrouded in angelic innocence) later, he put the piece of paper aside, and started talking about their product.

I didn't know programmers have to make clocks too. Or perhaps at least give answers for clock calculus.

An older clock problem, of the age of pendulum clocks, aka some form of 'grandfather clock':
A clock takes five seconds to strike five. How many seconds does it take to strike six?

7.5 degrees?
At 3:00, the hour hand is at 3 and the minute hand is at 12.
At 4:00, the hour hand is at 4 and the minute hand is at 12.
At 3:15, the hour hand is one quarter of the way after 3 and the minute hand is at 3.
One arc of one hour is 1/12 of 360 degrees or 30 degrees.
One quarter of an hour is 7.5 degrees.
