What about Great Bulgaria?

Isn't that Great Uncle Bulgaria?

I deoontestualized the sentence of course - in that case He was correcting a character who referred as Great Britain, Great France and Great Germany (or another, I don't remember if it was actually Germany) and the Doctor replied "no no, they're just France and Germany... only Britain is Great".

If you do well on the test you'll be rounded up with the others and placed in a special location for "rehabilitation". One can never be too careful.
On the other hand, if you appear clueless, you'll be tracked to senior management.

Bought a sound bar to go with the TV this morning - got fed up with the tinny sound, and saw a LG in my local supermarket. Since the TV is LG, and has an opto-audio out, I thought "That'll do!".
And then spent 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour trying to work out how to make it work....I even RTFM...before abandoning it as more difficult than I expected. 10 minutes later and I had a "lightbulb moment". Sure enough, the one, solitary AAA battery that powers the remote control is covered in shrink wrap plastic...
I can't even cope with a damn battery anymore!

Well, I can't say that I haven't done that myself.
Then there was the time the remote felt like it had a battery in it, but it was just a weighted orange/purple/green plastic thingy. I still have it somewhere, I just need to find it and upload a picture of it.

While very infuriating, I find these kind of situations very amusing.
Same thing happened when the battery on my guitar ran out.
Something was off with the sound - my first thought was: "Change the strings."
Ok, done still sounds bad.
Then I was playing with the settings on my multi-effect and amplifier for almost an hour.
Changing distortions, setting up the equalizer - anything I could think of.
The last thing I thought of were the two AA batteries that are used to power the active pickups on the guitar.
In the end the splitting headache was Occam's razor slicing my brain as it was trying to comprehend it's own stupidity. Such a simple thing, yet last one I thought of.

I'm a bass player and my first experience of Active electronics was pretty much the same. Apart from the fact that the battery compartment was wired backwards took me ages to figure out (I'm an EE by profession)... never trust 'em!

Samsung writes it in the FM (to remove the plastic wrap).

LG doesn't. And I took it out and checked the battery was the right way round several times...

Just use this kind[^] of battery. It's rechargable, but for your application you will not have to do that very often.

Meh, that's nowt. I have been trampsing around all afternoon with my laptop to come to the coffee shop and download some work via free wifi.
I did not know my daughters had run down the battery watching YouTube while I was out this morning. There is no power point to use and I am miffed.
At least the phone works and has decided to download every frogging patch it can find via the wifi.
So it's Arabic coffee and back tomorrow. But I have the dentist tomorrow and THREE teeth to be extracted.

Oww! Good luck - I've had a few extractions (and normally bite the dentist) and they are never good news. Gin may help.
