I wasn't convinced, but my spell checker didn't complain.
Our network and phones have been down at work for about two hours now. Bored beyond belief. Already been told off for laughing, it doesn't look good for a company that is broken.

I checked it with the OED site (I can't share the link, because it's a subscription service and my local library subscribes so I get free access).
But in 1924:
P.G.Wodehouse in "Bill the Conqueror" wrote: A gentle breeze..brought pleasant Spring scents from the park across the road to blend with the robuster aroma of coffee and fried bacon.
...which seemed most appropriate!

robuster isn't a word by itself, it is the comparative of robust though, so why look it up?

Not all comparatives are legal: I follow "Countdown" rules!
[Note for non-UK residents]
"Countdown" is an afternoon TV program involving words and numbers: it was the first programme to show on UK Channel4 when it opened and has been going ever since. It uses the OED for word verification, and if it isn't explicitly in there, it's not allowed. There is a very good chance that nearly the entire population of teh UK has watched it at some point and knows (roughly) what the rules are!

What exactly do you mean by that? Some adjectives can't build one word comparatives so one uses "more" before it like "unusual" for example. I could imagine there are adjectives that should not use any comparative at all. The word "exact" would be one of my choices. Either something is exact or it isn't, for me that is kind of an absolutum.
Cheers!

How silly would it be not to have a .co.uk address for a national poll
