You need to add the link to the user: Valli Sheik - Professional Profile - CodeProject[^]
That way, we can kick him off the site as well.
Plagiarists are not welcome here - and a blatant copy like this deserves everything he gets!

What I would like to know that how that 'article' got approved? Even one didn't recognized the plagiarism - it is so wrongly formatted, that should not pass moderation anyway!!!
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Because we have a lot of new moderators who I suspect are approving anything
1) Because they can.
2) Because they are mates.
and 3) For the rep points.

I would really appreciate if admin can take a look and send them a message who are really approving bad articles.
cheers,

Too much for them to check.
That's why I suggested to make the "approvers" visible for a certain group of people (Menthors, Protectors, MVP or whatever combination / new criteria), that way it would be easier to discover patterns. What action to do with infractions... CP call, but at least we could help to keep the quality standard in the position it deserves for this site.
It is very difficult to control every moderated item in every moment, but sooner or later we find out "not really deserved" approved items.

1) Cooooolll... I have new powers...
2) There we can help (see my comment above)
3) I would give no reputation for approval action.

Not sure: moderation is adding value to the site - when it's done properly - so some kind of reward is justified.
But I don't think it should be an "automatic right" if you get to a particular level as at present. I still feel that you should have to have articles / tips approved so you know what is expected and just how much work is involved first. At the moment, someone who has never even looked at an article here can vote to approve his mate's copy 'n' paste homework answer...

I see your point. I have less than 500 points in author and would not mind to be excluded if your proposal gets active (I would at least go for gold before allowing approval).
The "biggest problem" I can see is the probably accumulation of queued items, because it will take longer to get approved.

Probably, yes. But... This site is about good quality articles first and foremost (like SO is - or was - with questions and answers) so a little extra time to ensure that the quality didn't get diluted is a price I'd be happy to pay. Particularly if I was wanting to use it on my resume, and most of the rubbish ones seen to be there for...: sigh:

OriginalGriff wrote: so a little extra time to ensure that the quality didn't get diluted is a price I'd be happy to pay. Me too
OriginalGriff wrote: Particularly if I was wanting to use it on my resume, and most of the rubbish ones seen to be there for... most of the worst contributions are just for that reason. And that is the pity. They are publicing bullsh... and reducing the quality just to say... hey I have an article in CP
Which actually is galaxies away of the original goal of the site and the regular users.

Article: YQL, XML, Yahoo APIs and C# - CodeProject[^]
User: [deleted; see below]
Copied and pasted the definitions from Web API - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[^] without even changing the font.
[EDIT]
Author replied immediately to my comment on the article that he will update it. Because he already has an article and three tips that are OK, I suggest to not report his account this time when the above article is gone or updated.

CSharp Tutorial Code Book - CodeProject[^] This article is nothing but a code dump of all the C# tutorial codes.
This is definitely not an article but my concern is, if this code dump is taken from the book (attached CD if any) he has mentioned "Ilustrated C# 2012 2nd Edition".
If that is the case, this article needs to be nuked but I don't have this book for reference. Can anyone do a due diligence?
cheers,
Super
