Hi,
I have tried to upload my profile image many time with different image extensions (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif) but I get an error:

Try unchecking your Gravatar box. Hit save my settings. Then upload your picture and hit save my settings again.

Varticles (video articles).
The author would upload the video to CodeProject, and CodeProject would then post it to either youtube or vimeo using a CodeProject user account. Comments would (optionally) be turned off on the video itself, so people would have to come back to CodeProject to vote/comment on it. There may even be a way to determine likes/unlikes on the video service and factor that into the article's score.
I imagine that a snazzy CodeProject intro could be automatically prepended to each video as well.
As far as who can post a varticle, I think it should be restricted in one or more of the following ways:
0) A minimum article count, not including tips (determined by CP)
1) An average article score of at least 4.0
2) A minimum reputation score (determined by CP)
3) A minimum tenure of 5 years on CP.
4) Has achieved VIP status at least twice.

Rename them Film Articles or Farticles and I think you're onto a winner 
Of course, there was a CodeProject.tv experiment a while back which didn't really go anywhere.

hello, We intend to append Youtube video links with our IoT articles. For other articles, it's different, but for hardware related stuff it is always great to see the demo to understand how stuff works.
Earlier, Kevin used to add Youtube links of my articles whenever I requested. Is there any ways to put the youtube thumbnails embedded in page?
Or, shall we put the link at the top of the page and leave a message for the editor?

I can certainly add the videos for you. The caveat is that every time you need to edit the article, I have to do it, otherwise the video will break.

Can't you make it so that the user can insert youtube links, but only if that user meets a pre-determined set of "we-trust-you" requirements?
The article editor could be configured to allow/disallow it based on that criteria, and the site admin would be able to override it at any time (ostensibly to take the feature away if the otherwise qualified user posts a video link that does not have to do with the article).

I have a better fix. i will take a screenshot of the youtube video and place it at the top of the page as image and hyperlink to the Youtube video

You can now add videos yourself using the iFrame tag.
Only YouTube, Channel 9 and Vimeo videos are supported.
