Got another freebie with 50% discount if you want to buy the Professional version. This time it's Hard Disk Sentinel Standard Edition Hard Drive Software 100% Off[^].
I bought the Professional version ages ago from here, use the Portable version as it allows me to check customers HDD for errors when called out for various issues that could be caused by HDD problems.
The last 2 days they had IsoBuster at 50% off, great tool I've had for years. But since they didn't have a 100% off version I didn't post. Got in too much trouble last time I mentioned something that wasn't free from there.

Thanks for that! I use CrystalDiskInfo[^] which is Open Source, and the SanDisk SSD Dashboard which came with my SSD so I'm OK for the moment. But it's always worth knowing about alternatives!

Don't rely on Version Control as a backup system - or at least not as your primary backup - it can help if you lose everything else, but it's a dangerous way to go. The repository is not automatically "protected" in any way, and if the drive holding the repo fails, or the file gets corrupted - and we all know that happens - you are up the well known creek!
By all means use VC as an addition to good solid backups (heck, I do!) but it should be an addendum, not the primary.
