I'm actually not sure what next year will have in store. I am starting a new job after Thanksgiving, one that requires commuting, and I'm not sure what my off-hours free time will look like. Not spending an hour a day commuting (that's total) is actually productive writing time that I won't have. Conversely, I won't be receiving emergency calls at 8 PM (or later!!!) to do remote customer support!

Just signed up to a 30 day free Amazon prime trial to watch it, and, have to say, it is every bit as funny, irreverent, and watchable as the old Top Gear.
The 'fight sequence' with the audience was pure surrealism! Classic British humour, and poor old ginger nut must be crying into his pillow that he couldn't pull it off. Oh well, face it, Clarkson is a good comic.

Pair Prime with a Fire Tv Stick, and it does work very well. Could use more content - it's a bit patchy - but I can see Grand Tour being the "killer app" that gives it a serious boost!
Plus, video isn't all you get - have you checked out the music collection yet?

I do have an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Is Amazon Prime a paid service even when you have bought their stick? (he asked, fully aware of the ridicule to follow)

Oh yes!
The stick cost £20 (on special, down from £30) and Prime is around £80 per year. But ... that includes unlimited free next day delivery on most things, and their music service, ebooks, etc.
There is normally a free 30 day trial, which gives you a good idea what is available.

It usually comes down to the lazy people in the distribution chain that can't be asked to do anything in an ordinate amount of time. There's a distribution center about a 7 hour drive from my house, so I could pick things up myself in under 24 hours if they'd let me. Still takes two days.
And don't even get me started on the postal service... Takes a week to get a piece of first class mail from one coast to the other...

The rest of the content is a bit iffy. Lots of old films, lots of pay to view films, and none of it available in France, so I need a UK IP address (VPN), so its not as good a service as I expected.
