We live a half mile from our local hospital, and are on the direct flight path for the helicopter ambulance service to its associated major medical center. Our male greyhound is terrified of the sound the helicopter makes, as it usually passes overhead at fairly low altitude.

I worked a short contract job in Stockholm many years ago and I was very impressed with how friendly, welcoming and especially generous every one I met there were.

The weirdest things was when I listened to some teenagers chatting in a fast food restaurant the would be talking in Swedish and then have bursts of English seemingly in the middle of sentences and then revert to Swedish. I asked them about this and they said some thing like, "What English? We were speaking Swedish! ...weren't we?" They didn't even notice!

If he's homeless, what landline number did he give them? Or does he carry a cell phone? Last time I checked, if I wanted a usable cell phone with an actual number, I had to give the service provider a street address.

Well, the article did say he was divorced, in which case I'd say, if he got to keep the house, she's probably the one who burned it down.

From what little experience I have of homelessness(there but for the grace...), having helped out at a shelter years ago, homeless people can sometimes use the address of a shelter for bank accounts so I am guessing they could do the same with a cell phone account.

I'm fortunate enough never to have experienced homelessness. But I'm pretty sure if I was, the last thing I'd want to be wasting money on is a phone.
Also, I think I'd be rather pissed if I was in that situation and someone bought me a plane ticket--how many meals could this guy have bought for that money?
