Working support tickets can be great to learn about how your customers use the products you create. Recently come into a ton of people that are using Easy Capture Manager (when you press print screen in Windows). The problem is that when they use it, they only capture portions of the screen that they consider useful. Often times this is little more than an error dialog. I want the shot of the whole browser. The URL often has help information in it. Other parts of the screen that users don't care about help me troubleshoot. These screen shots are about as good as no screen shots.

It could be worse. I get screen 'captures' that are taken with their phone from three feet away. Did I mention they're out of focus and blurred as well? And they're complaining about the position of a button on the screen?

Almost as bad as someone taking a screenshot of part of a log file.

I get that too. We have a diagnostic report (an HTML document) that can be generated via three clicks from anywhere in the application. The document is around 8-10MB of useful information, which translates to about 1,000 printed pages.
I have received a screen capture of the first page.

Think yourself lucky. I once got contacted by a recruiter for a job as a car mechanic. I told her I had no experience in that field, she laughed and said "you have a degree in engineering yet know nothing about engines?"
The conversation ended with her thinking I was the dumbass.

The way I feel about recruiters these days that conversation would have gone on a lot longer and ended with me never, ever having any chance of her trying to place me in any job.
