Asking the obvious question. What was the original W10 patch for? If it was done to address a security problem, then it absolutely should've been backported. IF the code in question was re-written for a different reason and they weren't aware that it also addressed a vulnerability then MS's decision not to backport it by default is a lot more reasonable.

Microsoft does afterall have a product that consists of W7/8 with all W10 patches merged into it. It's called Windows 10. Roll eyes | :rolleyes:
