Does anyone here have some experience with Betty Blocks[^]?
It's supposedly a market leader in no-code rapid application software development.
One of my (future) clients wants to develop their product using Betty Blocks and they want my help.
At first I'll help them set up the application in Betty Blocks (they'll pay for a two to three day course in my own time), but when things get rolling they want my expertise for other things as well.
Think when we hit the limits of Betty Blocks, or when they get bigger, and they'll need some custom web services.
I had never heard of Betty Blocks until yesterday though 
Is it any good? Is it really as "rapid" and easy as they say?

So it's supposed to be a product that non programmers can use to develop their own apps,
hence: no need for a programmer,
and,
they need a programmer to tell them how to use it? 
First impressions (without looking): AAAA++++ - Job Safety.

They'll probably need me later when things get more complicated.
For now it's work, not the kind I'm used to, but that makes it just more interesting (for now)

Wow. What a useless website to actually convey anything meaningful about how it works, pricing, etc. And I get really tired of those short videos that show someone dragging a dataset onto a "form" and it draws a pretty graph. An application is a lot more than just a pretty graph that finds itself in the shredder at the end of the presentation.
I wouldn't touch that without some serious test driving.

Yeah, the website is less than useful, but the product itself seems pretty advanced.
Support is very good too.
I'm not a fan of such frameworks.
However, my client wants something fast, and this they can tinker with themselves.
I'm interested in seeing how this works out and if they'll need me for any serious development work later (that's my real gain here, plus it's a customer with money and work).

One thing they should be made aware of before jumping on the Betty Blocks wagon.
Looking at the website, it appears they'll need to have someone sitting next to them, staring at what they're doing while using the system. I don't know if that's a safety thing, like a spotter at the weight bench, or if the system itself actualy requires two people doing the work.
If the latter, they may find they'll need to double their workforce.

Strangely, I don't.
My mother is still in there - though I removed her address and phone number. If nothing else, it means I still get a reminder on her birthday ... it's probably silly of me, but I just don't want to remove them; it's a bit too "final" if you understand what I mean.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Yes, I understand very well, Griff. It's hard to let go - it's so final. A girl I loved for decades died last year of scleroderma is still alive in my dreams and prayers - her Facecrack site is still alive and well - and I hate to part with her, though I'm still in contact with her kids, who I helped to raise.

I was weeding my phone a couple of months ago, came across a couple that had been gone 2 or 3 years (and several that are still alive afaik, but out of touch or no longer relevant).
I am still pissed at my bro who erased my father's answering machine greeting a day or two after he died. I wanted to save a copy, one of very few records of his orator's voice.

Fortunately it was not neceassary until now for the lost ones because the partners are still alive and did not use mobile phones.
For the dead phone numbers of the young ones who freqently change their provider:
I have stopped adding them to my contacts.
