Yoko Shimomura - Fight Against an Armed Boss[^]
No metal, rock, pop or electro this week.
Instead I have a soundtrack from the good old 16-bit era, Super Mario RPG on SNES 
I tried the game on my SNES Classic Mini because I never played it back in the day, was surprised that it was a Square game (I'm a fan of the FF series), and I actually liked it enough to finish it in a few days of almost non-stop gaming.
The soundtrack isn't bad either, but this boss theme rocks!
And the main composer of the game is no other than Yoko Shimomura, who's also responsible for the awesome Kingdom Hearts and FFXV soundtracks!

I played WoW back when I was in college (and initially failed my master's because of it  )
Great soundtrack, I especially loved Sholazar Basin[^].
WotLK was the last one I played though, but the later soundtracks sound great too.

Asphyx is Dutch and when you look up the bands of current and former band members you're in for a world of death!
Pestilence, Hail of Bullets, Dead Head, God Dethroned... I even see some of those guys work(ed) with Sodom, Desaster and, yes, Bolt Thrower!
The Netherlands actually has a pretty good death metal scene with other acts such as Sinister, Infinited Hate, Houwitser, Altar...
Some of those, including Asphyx, have been around since the beginning of death metal and are worldwide death metal legends!
Our gothic metal is legendary as well, with acts such as After Forever, Within Temptation, and Epica...
The funny thing that the whole world listens to our metal music except the Dutch 
We Dutch are sometimes a little narrow-minded, so metal to us is "alternative" and "not for us", while other countries have our music on the radio
That's also the story I tell when once every few years everybody turns into a friggin patriot when the Dutch go to the (winter) Olympics and I'm not cheering.
I ask them why they aren't cheering for our legendary death and gothic metal and other bands that do pretty well internationally (our DJ's are also doing pretty well!)
Suddenly they're not so patriotic anymore.
True story, we're one of the least patriotic countries in the world (except when the Olympics are on, of course)
Anyway, give the Dutch music scene some love

Concerning indifference, good point indeed … In general, Dutch scene seems to be more interesting than Belgian/Flemish, where I think only Aborted jumps to mind … I know Asphyx for about 3 years now, and I am happy to own their 2 latest albums . Next to Epica and WT, also The Gathering is quite interesting, not to forget Sowulo … ,

I also think your black metal scene is (or was?) alive and kicking.
You (used to?) have Lugubrum[^], Wapenspraak & Drinkgelag[^], Theudo, Huldrefolk, Paragon Impure, Gotmoor...
Lugubrum is most notable though (and I just read, like 30 minutes ago, that Paragon Impure released a new album).
I also still have the first Huldrefolk demo, Lugubrum, Gotmoor, Grimfaug, and other Belgian black metal bands on CD

Very dark! Ok, Yoda, get yourself an other toast.
Meanwhile I have this[^], which also got a little too dark. The final coat of thinned black paint was supposed to emphasize the panel lines, not to tone down the entire model. Still, at least in bright sunlight it looks awesome,
The whole idea was to learn about some painting techniques for another model, and learn something I did. Unfortunately I must now build yet another model to hopefully get it right. Poor me.

Thanks. I would call it a lucky accident. This was a rehersal for a slightly bigger model that I don't want to mess up. When I go to the airfield, there will be a lot of bigger and far more expensive models, so I want it to look better than the others and actually have built it myself.

You might be surprised. I read somewhere that the folks still build physical models at times when storyboarding and in order to make sure that movements of CGI models are *cough* reasonable *cough*.

They do - and aim for WETA, not ILM. Most of the stuff you see in The Hobbit trilogy is hand built. They do emphasize a lot the physical part of the job.
It adds realism and helps a lot with the later CGI. You can see the effects of not using props vs using them extensively looking at the differences between Star Wars Episode II and Episode III.
Also they are needed by the actors to actually focus on the things around them: in Episode II many times you see Ewan McGregor speaking to some aliens while staring a mile behind them... because he only had a marked point on a wall to speak to.
In The Hobbit Ian McKellen was forced to act in a normal sized room while the dwarves were in a oversized set with syncronized cameras and audio stream, he had only lightbulbs with names to speak to when acting and he broke down crying almost giving up on the project for the difficulty of acting without a human feedback. Props, actual objects and stand-ins are a necessity both for the human factor in movies and for the CGI team - what already exists doesn't have to be modelized.

I think it looks awesome. If the lines between the panels were any darker it would look almost cartoonish.
It looks like this mech has been well loved, and not gently used.

I remember the present owner first knocking the enemy commander out of the cockpit with a load of missiles during a retreat and then stealing it out of their repair hangar without canopy after rescuing the captured pilots. At the end of the third novel of the trilogy, the Gray Death was barely able to walk, but the battle was won.
Anyway, at that time they were already bombing each other into the stone age for some centuries and they were close to becoming unable to produce any new Mechs at all. The Marauder could have been more than a century old and should look like that.
Now I'm ready for MechWarrior 5 when it comes out next year.
