Actually, "agile" isn't the answer. Proper design and implementation of software (making *it* agile), along with the ability and committment to identify when your software needs a rewrite is the answer. The benefit of a rewrite is that you have a software model that you know is deficient, but that gives you a starting point for a fresh look at the problem, along with a better understanding of the users' needs within the application's domain.
