Today morning I decided to leave for work very early so as to catch up with some lost time. So got up early, decided to take coffee on the go.
0. 5 mins before leaving, my daughter asks do I have a minute to see her magic trick. I said yes and which is resulted in glitters all over my face and shirt. So change outfit, shower again and trust me this bloody glitter doesn't go so easy.
1. start the car and reverse it. **Thud**. Coffee mug from the car roof lands on the windscreen and when opened the door to look, coffee on my head and shirt. So repeat change and shower
2. Start the car again and I drive I realize my pant is wet. Coffee dripped into seat.
4. Called in office and said I am not coming..

Cast iron frying pan, to my recollection - might have been the manufacturer's name - had a cast iron lid as well, iirc.

Actually, now that I google it, seems it's a skillet on 'legs' - never new that.

Yes, one of those things that weirdly gets called a "spider" is a skillet on four legs.
I guess it's a bit closer to the real thing than a billiard table "spider" (which has two legs) but I still think that people should learn to count before they misname things!

I am sure many of is have a whiteboard for informally recording significant events for quick visual reference. For fun (mainly) but also because its really handy we add a simple little emoji style graphic to show what kind of event it is. So a bug gets a nice little picture of a bug, a piece of software with a sunset date gets a setting sun and so on. Means we can tell whats what, and waste five minutes drawing it.
Yesterday I found a data issue caused not by a bug but by a glitch. A power cut had thrown some data out. We should record this but we don't know what a glitch looks like  . We can't possibly put it on the board without a picture. Please help with your suggestions.

usually that's a training issue isn't it? Unless its the big boss who makes the mistake, you explain that as a glitch if you are happy in your work.

First thing to come to mind when you say "Glitch" is The Matrix, so perhaps a pictuer of Neo's head (complete with cool sunglasses) will do the job

but you would have to argue that Neo himself was a glitch, I mean clearly he would count (or would he  ), but you'd have to explain that all the time. I wonder if a page with data sort of symbol with a zappy line across it might say Matrix glitch better. Especially if it was green pen we used.

A glitch is also the name for what happens when a neutron star undergoes a "starquake", changing the frequency of its rotation. Perhaps a picture of a small, vibrating ball...

Like this: its clear; its dissimilar from other symbols; its easy to draw with klutzy IT fingers; and most importantly its really geeky.
