I seem to remember that, A CD nothing more... you wanted a game you went to the shops handed over money and got media! Imagine telling kids in the futre you had Monkey island on 8 5.25 discs, 4 1.44 & 1 CDRom!..

That's still how I roll. No media? No purchase.
Mind you, I hardly play games anymore - but always make an exception for whatever becomes latest installment of the GTA franchise.
Although by now, it's had so many patches I'm not sure there's a single file that came from one of the eight DVDs that still matches what's on the hard drive.

In a way you're right, we couldn't afford a computer (and didn't need one either) back when dial-up was the only connection available.
And steam was what we got when we boiled drinking water to kill the contaminants.

Well, we would set a pan of Boone's Farm wine out at night so it would freeze and we could pour off the 180 proof flavored alcohol.

Back in the day when I would fix computers for the wife's friends, one of her managers brought me his kid's system and a new video card so he could play WoW. One of their problems was that the patch for the game was something like 2.5GB and they didn't have broadband...so they used my bandwidth to enable a teenager to play games. I was supposed to get a free meal out of the deal but that never happened...wife wound up firing him soon after for improper cash handling.

I have seen some obscure clues in CCC but I think that beats all.

I have two (tiny) issues with the new Start window.
First issue: I want to rearrange the options list (on the right side) to put "New Project" at the top .. and not be something I always have to scroll down to find.
Second issue. When I close a solution, most often the next thing I want to do is quit VS. But the Start Menu has reappeared and you can't click FILE: Exit without first closing that Start Menu. A little aggravation each time I'm ready to exit VS 2019.
