Because there are two of them, perhaps?

"Potentially life supporting" is not the grandest of claims - it could be used to describe several objects in our own solar system without any controversy. Most of us would agree that Titan has the potential to support life but would consider it unlikely to be doing so, why should such a claim become preposterous when applied to an exo-planet?
