Although I can't remember when I actually saw some in my inbox, but my spam folder is quite hilarious at times. People fall for those?

I received one the other say that started:
"Dear <name>,
My great spiritual powers enable me to function as a messenger. So I don’t get in touch with you for a trivial reason.
I have important news for you!
You are a very special person. "
Not special enough to actually have a name, it appears.

The first message in a spamscam is facepalmingly stupid because anyone with the minimum brain power needed to recognize it as bogus would catch on before sending money even if the first message was more plausible. Spammers don't want to waste their own time engaging with people who figure it out mid-way and back out.
