I want to use football teams logos in my android app.[^]
And I'd say that's a bit dubious either way.

But since I replied to it before it was closed, you have an answer, even if it isn't the one you wanted.

You'd have to contact the NFL to find out what their licensing options are. Or whatever league runs the "football" teams you are referring to.

Although it is related to an andriod app, the "issue" you are describing has almost nothing to do with programming. It is more related to resources, licenses and asking the owners for permission to use their copyrigthed logos / emblemas / pictures.

Additionally it looks a bit like a spam bait, which are questions that are used later to put publicity links for free and this is not allowed.

It doesn't necessarily need to be fixed by anyone at CP (I can roll it back (I think)). I just do stuff for a reason, and IMHO I do a pretty good job of formatting my articles.

If the edit is for a misspelling, that's fine, but in this instance, some of the layout changed, and some content was added. The only reason this is posted here is because I couldn't find a way to email her directly.

This is worth a bit of a discussion.

We're trying to make our editor a little easier to use. We've also worked really, really hard to ensure that all articles on CodeProject have a consistent look and feel. This has been a critical point for us forever.

In order to make things consistent we limit the tags that can be added and we will go in and fix up formatting that's messed up. You've seen the sorts of things that get posted. To give every article a chance we need to sometimes hose it down and give it some fresh clothes.

One way to ensure consistency, and a way many editor components have moved towards, is to simply remove the concept of markup. You edit in design mode and there is no markup, no HTML. Your formatting is limited to what's available in the formatting options.

Personally I'm not a fan of this because I'm a control freak, but it does enable us to ensure a more consistent look and feel for new articles.

So, ultimately, what formatting do you need that would ever be removed by a CodeProject editor? To put it another way, what formatting features do you need that are "non-standard"? The only things I can think of are

colours
specific padding and margins
floating elements such as images
specific fonts (eg for discussions on design)

Anything else?

Can you check his articles to see which one was edited and see the differences on both (Deeksha's vs. his version)? Sometimes a view is worthier than 1000 words.

On the top Right corner, there is a notification count and when you hover your mouse it shows list of notification with newest first.
But when I click on it and when it goes to a new page, the Order changes to oldest first???

So If I had to see my say last 1 day (recent) notification to see if I have to answer or not, its painful to click next , next , next Smile | :)

Since we have closed both Chinese & Indian forums, Non-English Language sub-menu is not needed.

And some people bookmarked that particular forum page so It would be nice to add a message there saying "This forum has been closed". It would save us from seeing repeated "What happened to Forum X" threads in lounge and Bugs&Suggestions forums in future.

Chrome and Firefox allow you to add bookmarks to the browser - I use them to get the lounge, S&A, QA, C#, and Home pages open as a "Block" quickly.
It may well be browser bookmarks he is referring to.

Yes, I know. I have lots of bookmarks in my Chrome browser. But I only have one that takes me to CodeProject, and use the menu or the tree on the left for all other navigation. Maybe I am (again) in a minority.

I have a "startup" bookmark folder that opens Calendar, Contacts, and The Lounge (these are pinned, so when I open Chrome they load automatically) and that has a subfolder of "Add ons" which open S&B, S&A, Home, QA (Unanswered), and C# so I can just load them all with two clicks (left click "Start", middle click "Add ons"). Makes my life easier, is all.

And when Chrome doesn't open the three "default pages" (normally because some asshat site opened a popunder I didn't notice when I shut Chrome) it's easy to restore everything. Mad | :mad:

Much the same here, I have Calendar and GMail pinned, and lots of folders on the Bookmarks bar which take me to SSSI places. I rarely close Chrome as I just hibernate the PC when I am not using it, so my active pages are still around when I come back. I may look more into tailoring it in the way you suggest.

I Close chrome - and turn off the desktop - every night, mostly because Chrome can "lose the mouse pointer" on the Surface if left open for a few days. Plus, the cat can wake up my computer and he does walk all over the keyboard when he feels like it. And make phone calls. Little git ... Laugh | :laugh:
