I actually just spend last weekend porting a Silverlight application to Blazor. (a significant amount moved across directly)

If any library is abandoned or goes out of support, you are in trouble. The problem with frameworks is that they are so pervasive that if your chosen framework goes out of support, you must essentially write the application from scratch.
Where possible, I prefer to write to the raw language (including the standard library and O/S hooks, if necessary). That way, I can be reasonably certain that as long as the language and the O/S exist, my code will run.
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

Considering IE11 end of life is August 2021, silverlight wont have any browser to run on that isnt out of support.
Plus people still have 13 months before they need to worry about porting it. Thats like 5 normal human years

. . . . never did and never will.
Frameworks come and frameworks go - so all the more reason to work with the raw languages and enjoy a good solid "What Me Worry?" gloat.

I wrote exactly one Silverlight app back in 2010-12, and it never made it to release due to a change of command where the new USAF commanding officer decided he didn't want the app (right after the app went feature-complete and we released the first beta).
I left the contract position soon after, so I don't know if they ever replaced it with anything else.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
