Probably not at first, but I expect the quality would get better over time. I expect that just as you have different prices for cuts of real meat, you will have different prices for the artificial stuff, based on their similarity to the real thing.

I've bitten the bullet and transferred all my stuff over from Google Play Music to YouTube Music. Not that I had a choice, as it's not going to be there for much longer. I'd been holding off because there was quite a lot of negative 'chatter' - mainly about ads being inserted between uploaded tracks (i.e tracks that someone has bought and then uploaded to Google).
Well, I'm actually quite impressed! I think the interface is a lot better than Play Music and, (at the moment), I'm not getting any ads when I play my own music. The only gripe I have is that, sometimes, the track order is wrong and there doesn't seem to be a way of fixing it. Some albums need to be played in the right order - for instance, this is just wrong:

13 She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
14 Golden Slumbers
15 Carry That Weight
1 Come Together
Nooooooooooooo!

Totally agree. I don't believe the younger folks have an appreciation for the order of songs on an album, my teenager certainly doesn't. Imagine Dark Side of the Moon , or Zeppelin 4 in a different order, no I can't either.

I switched to VLC player. It doesn't have this issue, supports WMA files, of which I have a lot, and works with Android Auto. The supporting WMA files has saved me 20 GB on my phone's 128 GB microSD card.

I like youtube music better than play. also works with google home too. plays nice in my car too.

Agreed. I use MusicBee[^] for management and playing on the PC while working. It writes to stick so I have a collection for use in the car, other computers, and in stereos.
It also supports current tag schema, so it recognizes the difference between album artist and track artist. When the collection includes albums such as "The Best of James Bond", distinguishing between the two is critical to keeping the tracks together.

If using a USB stick as a storage device with a "standard" file system is an option, my tool of choice is Windows Explorer. I'd much rather not use any third-party software to copy music over if I can help it.

I make numerous playlists for different purposes, e.g., traveling with wife, background for working, 300 hours of Jethro Tull, etc. I select the desired playlist and MusicBee writes it to the stick. I don't have to manually decide each time what I want copied.
If a stick gets lost or dies, it doesn't much matter, as I can reproduce that set list again with just a few clicks.

Y'know, I've never created a playlist in my life.
But I've seen samples, and it seems like the widely recognized formats are all plaintext. So it ought to be trivial to parse a playlist file and turn it into a simple set of file copy operations.

If I had a need for it, I would've written the 3 lines of PowerShell already, just to prove a point. 
And knowing Powershell, I'm betting it could be condensed down to a single line. But I know better than trying to be too clever.
