Which license version you have (OEM, retail, whatever) doesn't much change the install/configure job. You can use it like almost any other version of Windows OS. But, are you going to:
1. Use it as a PDC (Primary Domain Controller)?
2. DHCP server (it will want to do that)?
3. DNS server?
4. Create your own domain for it?
5. Exchange server with dig cert? Real domain account?
6. File server? FTP?
etc, etc
Actually, you can get a 6 month full blown trial key for nothing.
In fact, I would get one and run it in a Virtual Machine before using your retail version. I do that to test doing upgrades.
Oh, yeah, find a good on-line reference for configuring it. Mark Minasi used to do good books back in the 2003 versions, not sure if he is still around.
Happy learning. I have 3 different servers running as VM's in a T5810. I don't connect many users to it, use it for testing.
You will be limited to # of users by the license(s) you bought.

actually I only run it as a standalone workstation.
what attracts me is that 16core power since this Dell T5810 has 6 core.
I will run a datamining application written in .NET and it may be running all day long.
I already ordered one book from Mark Minasi on Windows server 2012. I personally configured Windows server 2009 long time ago.

you remind me of using Windows 10 pro instead. I don't need to have server version of OS indeed.

You got scammed. That image was of a Windows Server DataCenter edition. DataCenter is almost always only sold with hardware. You can see the word Datacenter poorly scratched out and STD written over it.

I am back to my take over the world (slowly) home project.
And I stumbled on a 2 few strange bugs today where databinding was not working very well today. I can't remembering such bug before....
And I wonder, is WPF (minutely) broken in .NET6 (Core)?
(I wonder of back porting the code for testing purpose but.. ppf... mmm.. perhaps I can do one sample)
Anyway.. any similar experience?

Oh oh.. reproduced the 2nd bug (simplest one) in a both a .NET4.7.2 and .NET6 WPF app.. and they both have the problem...

More a knowledge of biology test; lots of very intelligent people here either do not know how vaccines work, or don't trust government/pharma. But what surprises me is the "discussion". There can't be any, it's not a democratic problem where everyone's opinion matters.
Germany is close to making vaccination a requirement. I'm hoping that we copy their policies as we usually do.

I was just being snarky, but in this case the consequences of making poor choices can be pretty dire, and unfortunately affects people around them, so I have little patience for it. It's not really political issue for me. It's a public health issue.
That's all I'll say on that.

Reminds me of my opthalmologist's appointment two days ago. The technician sits me down in front of the machine, starts calibrating it against my right eye, and is obviously having problems.
Finally I take pity on her. "You probably don't want to do that with my right eye - it's a prosthesis".  (*)
As to why that fact isn't in big red letters on my patient profile, beats me.
(*) Irrelevant side note: My implant and prosthesis are very good and I have good motility (both eyes move together), so you can't tell it's artificial.

Got my booster shot and my flu shot at the same time. It has knocked me on my rear end. 
Swmbo told me not to do it, but being hardheaded, I went ahead antway.

Doc told us to allow 2 weeks minimum between COVID and flu shots. We took his advice, and had no significant side effects.

Fortunately, I listened to mine. Booster shot (Monday) made my pretty tired the next day, although nurse said it was half dose of originals.
Will get flu shot in a couple of weeks.
