I participate in Reddit primarily because it's a great source of information on things like programming the ESP32, wiring digital circuits and modding Fallout 4.
I don't really think of it as social media, but I guess it is. It's not the way I use it though.

But of course, judging by how sorry some of the performances of these softwares (recall that way 'yer old man used to refer to "money" using a plural form sounding like "monnies" to distinguish one currency from another perhaps) ... I blame myself.

Figured Twitch would be a biggie, but it's not listed here.

My highest usages are Reddit and TikTok, and the difference in how they operate, and why I think TikToks means of getting new content has been much more helpful.
In both the default (without touching any settings to change) loads For You content
Reddit has default groups you follow, so mostly the things you have chosen to follow you read, and stay in that world view
TikTok - throws a mix of stuff to you, and then priorities a mix of things you like/comment/share, and links things either the creator/sound/other people that liked and you follow/hashtags in video/ and likly content it has detected in the video
You can follow and block things, but by in large it has a very low effort to group you into content you engage with, which reddit requires a higher effort to search and actively navigate to get different content outside the groups you follow.
result, TikTok I find more enjoyable content, and interests I less likly to have engaged with on reddit.

So I checked "Other" in meaning "none of them"

I tried to vote "none" by selecting nothing from the list, but I failed ...

Yes, I engage with none. I have a Reddit account, but rarely go there, and a Rumble account, but haven’t gone there in 2 years.

I joined LinkedIn something like 15 years ago, because I thought it might be helpful to find a new job. It never was. And I never considered it any where close to 'social'. Yet it has been haunting me for many years. I really should terminate that account!
Will they leave me if I do? Or are they like most other 'Stop mailing me!' which really means 'Sell my mail address to twelve other companies with their ads about beautiful women and warnings about my antivirus license being expired?

It used to be more professional, but it's become very Facebook-y, at least for me. I've had recruiters contact me through the platform, so I think it does help people to find other jobs. I also use it to research prospective employers, e.g. have a look at their profile, people who work there, etc.
It also helped me track down a friend from school that wasn't on Facebook, so that was nice.

It's 99% Facebook-y these days, but I found both the old job and this one (which so far I love) thanks to LinkedIn, so it still has its merits.
