In the future, they will also probably be finding a new person to underpay, undervalue, and overwork.

If I've "got a sniffle" and can still think, then sure, - I'll code.
With a nasty dose of flu / cold, I'll code when my head is clear enough. Full of cotton wool? Probably not going to code.
When I had Covid, I didn't code while I had it, or for a couple of weeks after - I just couldn't think hard enough without actual pain as my SATs dropped low enough that my brain started to noticeably starve of oxygen when I tried.

Someone should do a study about the bugs introduced by a sick coder, as in
Number of Critical Bugs introduced vs State of Coder's Health.

Which health? physical or mental?
M.D.V.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Both.
Mental health is not easily measured. Physical health, the body temperature is one of the indications.

There's a large grey area in between those two states. When I do not feel well, I generally continue work, and I may be a bit less productive; with WFH, "contagious" or not is not an issue (well, see Mask During Zoom - Dilbert Comic Strip on 2021-03-19 | Dilbert by Scott Adams[^] for a different opinion).
If it is worse, and I get the sick leave certificate from my doc, I do not code at all - e.g. during those 5 weeks when post-covid-syndrome hit me.

When I'm sick I'm in bed, sweating and sleeping, waiting for the pain killers to kick in.
If I'd be able to code I wouldn't be sick...
Last time I was sick was last February, when I had COVID.
I wasn't that sick, but I still slept for an entire afternoon.
The next day was the release of Horizon: Forbidden West, so I really needed to rest on the couch that week

I don't recall coding while sick, but I do recall a week when my back hurt quite a bit so I stayed home and did what I could while laying flat on my belly.
