I experienced this question recently. The fellow, who had some minor Windoze experience, would close the open application (like Excel) before opening the next application (like the accounting software). When I told him "you don't need to close Excel, you can just leave it open", he said, "wow, that'll save me a ton of time!".

Needless to say, he would have no clue what "window flipping" meant, or the variety of ways in which to "do it".
