Shouldn't the value for the where do you live "Europe" response be aggregated from the values for France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom etc.?

I totally agree, as members of the european comunity it should be aggregated as "Europe" or the US stat should be divised in states...

Whereas the countries in Europe are actual countries (and are thusly correctly listed (most of them)), the states of the United same are not countries. Your point is not valid, in that sense.
In another sense, where one could argue that the states are so politically different (and noone gives a damn), they COULD be different countries. But that's the US's headache.
And as far as adding all European countries up into the Europe-total...shouldn't that also, then, apply for the Middle-east, Central America, North America (if there was one)?
But. Survey-makers can't think of -everything-.

This would for sure boost the number of "europeans"... However, I believe US' states are not exactly the same than europe countries I mean, someone from state A can speak with someone from state B (in the US), they have a common langage: english (which btw is also the national langage there), but in europe it's just not the same... I wish we had an "european" langage, but it's not the case...
Anyway imho it could be a good idea to merge france, germany, belgium, etc. into "europe" for this purpose

Don't get me going on this one... I live in a COUNTRY called England, which happens to be a part of the United Kingdom, Just because the UK is a part of Europe (Seperated by water on all sides) doesn't mean that i live in a COUNTRY called Europe.

Hey, there are a couple of questions that assume the person being surveyed had a job. Are we so insignificant?

there are now 18, and I know who one of them is. Are we talking about the same person perhaps?

With the penguins record of late it should be a given, but then you never know

Interesting to see lots of other nations peppered throughout the survey!
