if they are really threads , you could use global datas ;
if they in fact processes , use pipes or messages...

1. Put this code in both the thread code that is required for the Examining a Message Queue that is associated with a particaular thread.
BOOL fDone;
MSG msg;
// Begin the operation and continue until it is complete
fDone = FALSE;
while (!fDone)
{
fDone = DoLengthyOperation(); // application-defined function
// Remove any messages that may be in the queue. If the
// queue contains any mouse or keyboard
// messages, end the operation.
while (PeekMessage(&msg, NULL, 0, 0, PM_REMOVE))
{
switch(msg.message)
{
case WM_USER1:
case WM_USER2:
//
// Perform any required cleanup.
//
fDone = TRUE;
}
}
}
2. Use the PostThreadMessage(....) API for posting the messages between threads.

I am not sure, but you may have a try on GetFileInformationByHandle(...).

Do you really need that level of granularity? It's usually sufficient to know whether the file is opened exclusively or not.

You would try for MAPI (Microsoft Messaging Application Programming Interface) for the functionality of sending or receiving mails.
MAPI is a set of functions that mail-enabled and mail-aware applications use to create, manipulate, transfer, and store mail messages.
Hope this would help you. take a try.;)

If you are using Outlook as your mail client, you can interface to it (via COM) and access its mailing facilities. It's relatively painless, compared to performing all the MAPI code yourself. If you're interested in going down that route, MSDN has some articles about it - search for "Outlook automation".

Hello all,
trying to get a CBitmapButton working in a modeless dialog
button.Autoload is faling when i call it inthe OnCreate function....
where should i be calling it ? as its obviously in the incorrect place
this, however, works
<br />
pModeless = new MyModeless(this);<br />
pModeless->Create(IDD_DIALOG2);<br />
pModeless->ShowWindow(SW_SHOW);<br />
pModeless->mMyBitmapButton.AutoLoad(ID_HELLO, pModeless);<br />
presumably i need some sort of oninitalupdate function for the dialog
cheers
