I was wondering if anybody knew of some code on how to update a website's contents, such as news, easily (no formatting and such) without having to develop a database-driven website? I want to make a webpage for the members to update the site without needing to understand the formatting to it though. They neter in simple text in a form (like this message board) and submit and the news contents of their site is automatically updated next time anybody uses it. Any ideas? Free please, of course.

see the problem u have is that the data they enter has to be stored somewhere so it doesnt get lost ... databases are the most efficient way to do that ... files are just not good for that in the web environment
there are a number of free db engines out there and building a simple cms is really very easy

If you cant use a DB (although I would strongly recomend it) I would use XML files..
You can almost simulate a DB with the use of XML files if used properly..
I cannot provide any code for that coz my implimentations all use some sosrt of RDBMS, but I am sure that you can use XML.

Does anybody know how to change the inside background of radio button, using css or something like that. Thanks. I am talking about the very inside color, not about the color which is around it. Thanks

I could possibly give you an idea if I understood what you just said
I don't think you can change anything about radio buttons except whether they have a border or not...so your only option is probably use 2 images as a substitue instead

Hello.
A question to all of you programmers out there.
We want to use ooWriter from OpenOffice on the web.
This would be just like any type of webmail. The idea is to use the program on the web.
Its possible to view OpenOffice word documents today using the Internet Explorer in windows using ActiveX, but what we want is to be able to edit in the explorer also. Also we want the ability to use all of ooWriters functions in the explorer.
The OpenOffice engine for this we would put on a server, and all thats needed would be the use of an IE as a client.
The idea is very similar to a web-mail or a web based program, but we want to use the OpenOffice GUI.
Any ideas on this is welcome

Can someone direct me to step by step directions on how-to setup my computer (.Net 2002. W2K)so I can begin playing with web applications. I have IIS installed & running along with all the .NET options from the setup. I create a simple asp.net application. I add just a label. When I try to run it (f5) it complains about the debugger. If I start without debugging, I just get unformatted text. I must have the setup messed up.

Thanx a lot. I'll try this without fall. Also I want to ask you some more - I want to send a request to the server's php page, through my WinForm application, I use code like this
Uri u = new Uri(@"http://www.umc.ua/misc/sendsms.php");
WebRequest req = WebRequest.Create(u);
req.ContentType = "application/x-www-formurlencoded";
req.Method = "POST";
req.Timeout = 300000;
req.Headers.Add("network1","UMC");
req.Headers.Add("Phone1","5918658");
req.Headers.Add("network2","UMC");
req.Headers.Add("Phone2","");
req.Headers.Add("network3","UMC");
req.Headers.Add("Phone3","");
req.Headers.Add("Message","HellofromCSharp");
req.Headers.Add("sender_name","sn");
WebResponse res =req.GetResponse();
text.Text = req.Headers.ToString();
StreamReader sr = new StreamReader(res.GetResponseStream(),Encoding.UTF8);
string str = sr.ReadToEnd().ToString();
RES_text.Text = str;
res.Close();
But my application fails with Timeout expired bug. So could you tell me were the problems is? How can I send data to php page in C# code using POST method? Thanx.

Hi,
I'm looking for a cheap and easy way to update a link in a frame window from another frame. Say I've got two documents in my two frames('Left' and 'Left'). When document 'Right' loads I'd like to update document 'Left': I've written a simple function which is called onLoad():
<br />
function UpdateLocation(sURL)<br />
{<br />
TopWndDoc = top.frames(0).document;<br />
if (document.all)<br />
{<br />
TopWndDoc.all.Navigator.href=sURL;<br />
TopWndDoc.all.Navigator.title ='ChristSake!';<br />
} <br />
else if (document.getElementById) <br />
{<br />
}<br />
}
How do I get the text of the hyperlink changed? Yes, the stuff between the opening and closing tag. Any chance? Please?
Thanks in advance...
Matthias

How can I make that subpage look like:

how it's done.
Please any response any one can give me will be greatly
appreciated.

This seems to be something which is happening only on my computer, but I am hoping that someone has a clue about what is going on or has a link that might help.
I created a web page with this text in it:
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"><img src="http://buttons.blogger.com/bloggerbutton1.gif" width="88" height="31" border="0" alt="This page is powered by Blogger. Isn't yours?"></a>
What is very odd is that when I check in the web browser on my local computer, it appears as I would expect. However, when I upload to the website and check, not only does it not display properly, but the source displays it as being this:
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"></a>
If I remove the 'height="31"', it looks right and the source is displayed. This is driving me crazy and it doesn't seem to happen on other computers, so I think there is something wrong here. I have run adaware and spybot but neither come up with anything. I have norton running in the background, as well.
Any ideas? Thank in advance.

Huh... it seems to be Norton Internet Security which is removing it, but I am not sure why. When I disable NIS, the image displays perfectly.

OK, not that anyone cares, but I found the problem. Ad blocker was turned on in NIS and was removing the link. Once I turned of ad blocker, everything worked great.

Hello !
My problem is many-faceted, but simple.. I have a page that is running a PHP script, and this script has a set of methods which you can normally call from the page, if you have buttons or links there. But, the page also hosts an ActiveX control, and the control should be able to call these methods, supplying necessary parameters, to make the PHP script change the page layout.
Can anyone give ma clue on where to start ? The control does not need to work on any other browser than Internet Explorer, and if necessary, it can use a self-built WebControl component (independent page viewer), so that you must start the actual program to view the page where the control and the script are.
But, the best solution would be the ability to call PHP functions from the control itself. The script is able to handle the page layout changes requested by the control, then.
